Genk vs Eupen predictions
Prediction 1: Genk to win
Genk have dominated Eupen in recent years; they have six wins in the last eight encounters between these sides, with a draw and a loss. Also, Eupen have no wins in their last 10 trips to this stadium. They suffered nine losses in that stretch, with one draw. On that note, we are fairly confident that Genk will win this match.
Prediction 2: Both teams to score
Both teams were amongst the goals in three of the last four meetings between these sides. Four of Genk’s last six matches featured goals at both ends too. Given that Eupen averaged more than two goals per game in their last five matches, both teams should score.
Prediction 3: Over 2.5 total goals
Four of Eupen’s last five matches went above the 3.5 goal mark, while seven of Genk’s last 10 games featured at least three goals. Furthermore, the last eight clashes between these teams have seen more than three goals scored per game on average. For this reason, we should expect the goals to flow in this match.

It’s worth keeping an eye out for these players:
Tolu Arokodare – Genk
The 22 year old joined Genk from Valmiera in January; he played 11 matches for the club last season, notching two goals and one assists. Arokodare scored in Genk’s 2-2 draw with Servette in the UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds a couple of days ago. It’s worth mentioning that Tolu Arokodare is yet to earn his first cap for the Super Eagles.
Yira Collins Sor – Genk
Just like Arokodare, Yira Collins Sor moved to Genk in January, he had previously played for Sparta Praha and Banik Ostrava. The 23 year old is still hunting for his first goal for the club this season. However, he bagged three goals in four pre-season fixtures this summer. Like Tolu Arokodare, Collins Sor is yet to represent the Nigeria National team.
Joseph Paintsil – Genk
Joseph Paintsil has appeared nine times for the Black Stars, including at the AFCON qualifiers two months ago. The midfielder registered two assists in Genk’s opening match last weekend; he has been at the club for over two years.
Christopher Baah – Genk
18 year old Christopher Baah signed for Genk just last month. He registered his first goal in his first appearance for the club, scoring the last goal in their 4-0 victory over OH Leuven. The Ghanaian player replaced compatriot Joseph Paintsil in Genk’s Champions League qualifying game a few days ago.
Isaac Nuhu – Eupen
Ghana’s Isaac Nuhu has been at Eupen since January 2020; he struggled to find his best form last season, scoring just twice in 19 appearances. Interestingly, Nuhu registered two goals in three pre-season friendlies this summer; he also started in Eupen’s 2-2 draw against Westerlo last week.
Abdul Manaf Nurudeen – Eupen
Although Abdul Manaf Nurudeen has represented the Black Stars on just two occasions, he has been a vital part of Eupen’s squad since he joined in 2017. The 24 year old started in the club’s season opener last weekend, where he made three saves.
